New Year New Goals

So I have decided to set some goals this coming new year. Nothing Big I just want to read some books and make it all the way through them without falling behind and quitting. I'm sure i'll fall behind, but I don't want to quit. You know how it goes. It's a brand new year, so you make these new year resolutions, and get all excited about keeping them.........Then you're one week into it, and you find yourself falling behind already..........then the next few weeks life gets busy and you don't have time, then before you know you've quit altogether and its the end of the year and you are setting new goals and resolutions. Well I am going to attempt to do it again. This coming year a few books I would like to read are,

"Feminine Appeal" by Carolyn Mahaney
"Love that Lasts" by Gary and Betsy Riccucci
"When I don't Desire God" by John Piper.

Those are just to start with. It's been a while since I read the first two, and I find that it is very refreshing for me to remember that my marriage isn't about me and I what I want, and what I'm not getting that my heart desires. Maybe in the sense that I am a sinner and I screw up all the time it could be about me. But I want to remember Gods purpose for marriage, and I am always encouraged to love my husband and serve him more when I read those books, and so I thought, Hey! It's a new year so I can start fresh. The Piper book I put on their because well, I've been trying to read that book for like three years now. I always read a little at a time then I end up giving up.

So Here's to the New Year and New Goals!

Have you made your New Years Resolutions yet?

Merry Christmas to all.....and to all a goodnight......

Where has the time gone? I can't believe Christmas has already come and gone. I knew it would fly by, but boy, let me catch my breath. Well we had a wonderful Christmas with both of our families. God has blessed us tremendously this year. I know Christmas isn't all about the gifts, but we do enjoy giving gifts to others. And hey i'm not gonna lie, I like getting a little loot too. Here are pics of both our christmas's with our families. Prepare for Picture overload!!!!!

This is Annie all dressed up for Christmas Eve service.

In front of a big gift......obviously

Family Pic. I'm in love with Annie's boots, too bad they didn't want to stay on her feet.

Nana and Poppy matching their grandkids with the black, white, red, and grey.

Playing on Hudson's new play gym. Yes I know, Annie does not have any clothes on. She was having some accidents that night. Alright I'll just say it, she was exploding in her diapers and dirtying her clothes.

This is me, Christmas morning at our house with all my awesome gifts my hubby got me. Thank you so so so much Scott. I absolutely love everything. You know you have crossed over to the housewife/homemaker side when you get excited about paper towel holders and new skillets with lids.

Annie loving her guitar and the apple from mommy's stocking.

opening gifts at Nana and Poppy's with the whole family. Yes you could say it took a while to open all the gifts. It's crazy....

And the stockings were hung by the chimney with glee..... so they could be filled with candy to eat.

Peter and Bethany's new addition to their family. Mave the siberian huskey.

Libby with her stick on disney princess nails.

Scott in his new bike helmet to go with his new mountain bike.

Aunt Nini.

Playing with the cutable fruit. Great Gift.
And now we move to Christmas in Chatt wth the Andrews family.

This was Lucy and Annie opening their stockings. I love Lucy's face when she pulled out the Banana. She doesn't look super excited to be getting fruit for christmas. It's an Andrews tradition. She'll learn to appreciate it when she's older.

Of course they got candy too. Annie working her way through the wrapper to get to the heath.

Annie got a play gym from Grammy and PawPaw. She LOVES it. Especially since she is at a climbing age right now.

Her new backpack from Uncle josh and Aunt Sarah. So cute, and just her size. Thanks guys.

Time for the annual pic in front og the tree with the grandkids.
 Several pics later

By the twentieth picture Annie finally said OK i'm outta here.
 Grammy and her babies

Bath Time. Annie was having a blast splashing in the water.

All the kids getting clean and fresh.
Well, that about sums it all up. I did get bedding for Christmas and i'll show pics of that later when I move to the project of redecorating our room. Scott also got a grill and i'll show that when he puts it together. This will be a busy week for us, so i'm sure i will have lots more to tell when we finally swing in the new year.
See you soon.

Tis the season......

To be thankful....
Well I have been pondering a lot lately. I realize this blog is fun because I post a lot of cute pics of Annie and our adventures, but I also want to use it as a tool for myself. I want to remember that I would have none of this (the opportunities to do fun things with Annie, and the camera to capture it, and the computer to post it) if it were not for the Lord and his blessings on my life. I want to be real about what God is doing in my life, and I think having a blog is a great opportunity to remind me that God is continually at work in my life, through the good and the bad. This is sort of a good motivator to remember that I want God to be the first thing I think about and want to write about, not Annie or the latest thing we have done, or the newest thing we bought. Don't get me wrong I'm all about that too, I just want to remember whats important, and that is that I don't deserve what I have been given. But because God is such a good and kind and merciful God, he sent his own son to be CRUSHED for me. So that my sins can be paid for, and I can stand as righteous as christ before God, and he can pour out his love for me, despite my continual daily sins. Thank You Lord for helping me to remember that. I pray I would remember it every day.

Ok so I have been playing with iphoto editing. I would love to get better at taking cool pics and editing them and making them look all professional but there is no way I am paying thousands of dollars for a nice photo editing software. I'll just use iphoto, it works pretty good. I think when my birthday comes around i'm going to ask for a nice camera. We'll see. Any way Here are two pics I have. The first is the original pic. and the second one, is after I played with editing. I like the change. What do you think?

It's kind of antiquey feeling.

Well.... Referring back to the beginning I'll leave you with this question to ask yourselves?
What has been in the forefront of your mind this Holiday season? Ponder it, chew on it, think about it, and answer yourself. When I asked myself, my answer was...............
"What would be the best gifts to get everyone? I want Scott to love everything I give him, and I want to buy more decorations for the house so it looks all festive for the holidays. I want to know what is the fashion trend for winter 2011-12. Where can I get new cheap clothes that are cute and fun to wear for the holidays?" Yup! that is seriously what I have been thinking about. Now you can see why I need to go back and check myself and see what is taking priority in my life, and just needing to remember the true meaning of Christmas. I'm not saying all those things are bad to think about though. I think it's great to want to be generous and buy gifts for others, and to want a warm, welcoming home to friends and family, and to want to stay attractive for your husband etc... I just want to remember that we are celebrating our saviours birth first and foremost, and to not let those other things take precedence over that.Below is the definition of Saviour from the online dictionary. I think it is pretty fitting for Christ.
SAVIOUR =a person who rescues another person or a thing from danger or harm.
Now that your eyes hurt from reading so much I'll stop.

Gingerbread House and Ear Piercings! Ohh My!!!

(Above) - She sat so still and was so good during the prep for the piercing.

Now that I have a little girl and I get to be at home a lot, I think about fun things I could do. Annie is obviously still a little young for a lot of holiday crafts, but I can't help but do a few myself. I intended for her to help me with the Gingerbread house but she had to go to bed by the time I was ready to do it. I think she probably would have tried to eat everything anyway so it worked out. Note to self....don't do a gingerbread house at 11:00p.m., you will eat a lot of sugary icing and be awake longer than you originally intended. Since my darling husband took a business trip and left me home, I decided to surprise him with something when he got home. I took Annie and myself to get our ears pierced. I got a second piercing so I would know what she was about to get. (It's been so long since I got my first ones that I don't remember how painful it was, just a little pinch and pain for like two minutes) She was so good, and five minutes after it they did it, she didn't even remember what they did. Now as Scott says she looks like a little diva.
The design I followed from the box. Hey I gotta have something to work from.

side view. So much fun, it's too bad we won't actually eat the candy or the gingerbread house.
the process.
Finished. I think this was her third dum-dum lollipop. Hey can you blame me? I felt bad for the short term pain I let them inflict upon her.
Ta Ta for now.
